Andrew Harvey will lay out his vision of Sacred Action and inspire all that come to rise to the challenge of our time.

FREE WEBINAR: "Be the Change: How FICS students and faculty are stepping up and stepping out!"

Thursday April 5 5:30 p.m. -7 p.m.

The Fox Institute for Creation Spirituality celebrates our faculty and students for the transformative work they are doing in the world, from building contemplative communities in rural America to tackling the fight for a clean, safe environment. Their work requires vision, commitment, courage and tenacity in a world where change is often viewed as scary and disruptive to the status quo. Let their stories inspire your own courage and vision!

Our topic title is based on Mohatma Gandhi’s quote, “Be the Change you want to See in the World.” This webinar brings together faculty and students to explore and discuss three key questions:

  • What change especially speaks to your heart and inspires your work in the world?
  • What empowers you to step up and step out?
  • How has education helped (or is helping) you be the change that you want to see?

Join us for this important conversation which will bring hope, courage, creativity and possibility to center stage. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of our panelists, will meet our staff and and learn of ways to get support for their own work in the world through FICS offerings.

First Congregational Church of Boulder, 1128 Pine Street, Boulder, Colorado 80302

Please join us and special guest Reverend Matthew Fox for an illuminating evening talk.

Catholic monk Thomas Merton was a deep contemplative who reached many aspiring souls through his profound and artful writings. On being introduced by Dr Suzuki to Meister Eckhart in a deep way in 1958, Merton encountered Creation Spirituality and became a prophetic Christian the last ten years of his life, leading the way in pioneering Deep Ecumenism with writings on Zen, Sufism, Native American spiritualities and more. An early champion of the ecological movement and the women's movement, he took on fundamentalist religion and the Vietnam War and technology that ignores the spiritual needs of humanity.

Reverend Matthew Fox knew Thomas Merton and during their correspondence, Merton advised Matt to attend the Institut catholique in Paris where he first learned of Creation Spirituality from the prophetic French Dominican scholar, M. D. Chenu.
